Role Description
Lead the engineering squad delivering for defense customers. You’ll stay hands-on across TypeScript and Python, guide forward-deployed teams, and ensure secure, reliable deployments in disconnected environments.
- Architect and ship mission features—sensor integrations, workflows, real-time dashboards.
- Run deployments and incident response on-site, coordinating with commanders and SRE teams.
- Harden air-gapped installs: GitOps, registry mirrors, audit logging, zero-trust patterns.
- Mentor forward-deployed engineers and partner with Product/Security on roadmaps.
- Document and deliver accreditation evidence (BSI/NATO) and post-mission lessons.
Qualifications
- 7+ years engineering with leadership experience in mission-critical or regulated products.
- Hands-on with TypeScript/Node.js, React/Next.js, Python services, and Kubernetes.
- Comfortable operating in defense environments, including travel (≈30%) and on-call.
- Strong background in security (Keycloak/OPA, Vault, mTLS) and observability (OpenTelemetry/Prometheus).
- EU/NATO citizenship and eligibility for security clearance.
- German language (C1+).
Requirements
- Experience shipping air-gapped systems, sensor integrations, or tactical data workflows.
- Incident command certifications, OSS contributions, or talks on mission software.
