Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital, requiring strong experience in neuro, ortho, transplant, trauma, and vascular procedures.

Details

• Work in the Operating Room department of a Level I trauma teaching hospital
• Circulate independently on off shifts
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Day/Evening 12-hour shifts, 0700-1900, every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
• No call responsibilities
• Floating required as needed
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active WI or Compact RN license required
• BLS certification required (AHA only)
• Minimum two years of acute care experience within the last three years in the OR specialty
• Strong experience required in neuro, ortho, transplant (kidney/liver), trauma, and vascular procedures
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Pass/fail telemetry exam required prior to start with strict passing criteria

Additional Information

• Circulate independently in the OR during off-shift hours
• Must reside within 50 miles of the facility; local candidates not accepted
• First-time travelers will be considered if they have a minimum of five years of experience in a Level I trauma facility
• Facility is a Magnet-designated hospital ranked #1 in Wisconsin and recognized as a leading academic teaching and referral center
• Telemetry exam includes adult and pediatric rhythm identification with up to two attempts to pass; a third attempt requires completion of a cardiac interpretation review course
