Position Overview

Work Environment

The position is located onsite at our state-of-the-art hospital facility, equipped with advanced rehabilitation technologies and a supportive workplace culture. Our orthopedic outpatient clinic is designed to provide a comfortable and welcoming environment for patients, allowing them to focus on their recovery. Working Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, you will enjoy a predictable schedule that fosters a healthy work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver prescribed physical therapy interventions under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist, ensuring adherence to established protocols and standards.
• Assist in implementing therapeutic exercises, manual techniques, and various physical modalities tailored to specific patient conditions.
• Continuously monitor patient responses to treatment, documenting progress and any changes in condition while effectively communicating with the supervising physical therapist.
• Provide motivation and education to patients regarding their home exercise programs, optimal posture, and safe movement techniques to prevent further injury.
• Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with legal, payer, and clinic standards to support care continuity and compliance.
• Foster a positive and encouraging environment for patients, enhancing their overall experience and promoting a sense of community within the clinic.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our clinic primarily serves an orthopedic outpatient population, including individuals recovering from surgery, sports injuries, and chronic pain conditions. You will work with diverse patients, tailoring treatment approaches to fit their unique needs and goals. Your support and encouragement will play a vital role in helping patients regain their independence and achieve functional mobility.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Active Virginia PTA license or eligibility for licensure.
• CPR/BLS certification required.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, essential for collaborative patient care.

Preferred Experience

• While prior outpatient orthopedic experience is preferred, we welcome new graduates with a solid clinical background who are eager to learn and grow.

Compensation and Benefits
