Job Description
We are looking for an Accounting Clerk to join a manufacturing team in Tarrytown, New York. This is a Long-term Contract position that offers the opportunity to build hands-on experience across payables, bookkeeping, reconciliations, and accounting support in a fully onsite environment. The right candidate will enjoy detail-focused work, stay organized while handling a steady volume of transactions, and collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to keep financial records accurate and current.
Responsibilities:• Process invoices and support day-to-day accounts payable activities with careful attention to accuracy and timeliness.
• Enter, review, and validate financial data by matching invoices to the correct customer or account records.
• Assist with bookkeeping tasks, including maintaining organized documentation and updating accounting records.
• Perform account reconciliations and help resolve discrepancies through manual review and follow-up.
• Prepare and submit required statutory and state-related filings through applicable online portals.
• Use Bill.com to support manual payable workflows and ensure items move through approval steps efficiently.
• Partner with approvers and leadership to help maintain smooth processing and dependable financial reporting support.
• Contribute to general accounting administrative work and assist with additional finance-related tasks as needed.• At least 1 year of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related finance support role.
• Working knowledge of accounts payable, invoice handling, data entry, and reconciliation activities.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including comfort working with formulas and managing detailed spreadsheets.
• High level of accuracy, organization, and reliability when handling manual processes and repetitive tasks.
• Ability to learn quickly, ask thoughtful questions, and adapt in a collaborative team environment.
• Experience with Bill.com or QuickBooks Desktop is preferred but not required.
• Clear, detail-oriented communication skills and a positive approach to working with internal stakeholders.
