Position Summary

The HR Business Partner III provides onsite HR support to leaders and employees at Medical Center. This role serves as an HR partner for day-to-day employee and workforce matters, supports HR processes and investigations, and helps ensure continuity of HR services within a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day HR support and guidance to organizational leaders and employees.
• Partner with leaders on workforce, employee relations, and other HR-related matters.
• Conduct and support HR investigations involving employee and workplace concerns.
• Provide onsite HR coverage and maintain continuity of HR services.
• Support routine and complex employee-related matters using sound judgment.
• Work effectively with union-represented employees and support labor-related matters.
• Coordinate with appropriate HR resources to resolve employee and operational needs.
• Help leaders navigate HR policies, procedures, and processes.
• Support consistent implementation of organizational HR practices.
• Respond effectively to changing operational HR needs in a fast-paced patient-care environment.
• Work independently while maintaining strong communication and collaboration with leadership and HR teams.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of HR Business Partner or comparable HR Generalist experience.
• Experience providing day-to-day HR support to leaders and employees.
• Proven experience conducting or supporting HR investigations.
• Proven experience working with unions and/or represented employees.
• Strong employee relations and workforce support experience.
• Ability to provide onsite HR support at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center.
• Ability to work full-time as an exempt individual contributor.
• Experience maintaining continuity of HR services and responding to operational HR needs.
• Ability to effectively partner with leaders on workforce and employee-related matters.
• Strong communication, judgment, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Healthcare or hospital-based HR experience.
• Experience supporting acute-care or patient-care environments.
• Experience supporting complex or multi-site organizations.
• Proficiency with enterprise HR information systems (HRIS).
• Experience working in unionized healthcare environments.
