Line Mechanic
PROMAN Staffing Solutions is hiring a Line Mechanic for our client in Montgomery, IL. This is a hands-on role responsible for operating, setting up, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing high-speed packaging equipment while supporting daily production operations.
Pay: $34.25 per hour
Location: Montgomery, IL (On-Site)
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week. Current schedules include: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, 4:00 PM - 12:00 AM, 12:00 AM - 8:00 AM. Candidates must be able to work any schedule and overtime as required.
Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair high-speed packaging equipment.
- Perform equipment changeovers and adjustments.
- Troubleshoot electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
- Work with filling and labeling equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and production documentation.
- Support equipment reliability and production efficiency.
- Assist with equipment repairs and preventative maintenance.
- Operate forklifts after successfully completing required training.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience with high-speed packaging equipment within the last 7 years.
- Experience with machine setup, changeovers, maintenance, and repairs.
- Experience with filling and labeling equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong analytical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience troubleshooting electrical systems, including motors, sensors, solenoids, and pneumatic valves.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and pneumatic systems.
- Basic machining skills, including drill presses, power tools, precision measuring tools, machine assembly/disassembly, and pump repair.
- Ability to pass equipment operator training and forklift certification requirements.
- Ability to work any schedule and overtime as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual English/Spanish.
- Experience using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
- Experience rebuilding and overhauling packaging equipment.
- Experience with computer-based diagnostics.
- Ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics.
- Experience with photo-electrical registration systems.
- Lathe operation experience.
