Location Requirement

This is a 100% remote position; however, candidates must currently reside in one of the following counties:

• Ventura County
• Santa Barbara County
• San Luis Obispo County
• Monterey County
• Santa Cruz County

Candidates residing outside of these counties will not be considered.

What You'll Do

• Investigate and resolve member grievances, appeals, and billing concerns
• Conduct detailed benefits investigations and research
• Prepare appeal packets and documentation for clinical review
• Draft professional member correspondence and determination letters
• Coordinate with internal departments, providers, and clinical teams to facilitate case resolution
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory, contractual, and health plan requirements
• Manage a high-volume caseload while meeting established turnaround times
• Support escalated member issues and complex claims or billing investigations

What We're Looking For

• Experience in Grievances & Appeals, Member Services, Claims, Prior Authorization, Utilization Management, Billing Research, or Benefits Investigation
• Knowledge of Managed Care, Medi-Cal, Medicare, or Health Plan Operations
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent research, problem-solving, and investigative abilities
• Ability to manage multiple cases and priorities simultaneously
• Experience reviewing benefits, eligibility, claims, billing issues, or coordination of benefits

This is a Contract position based out of Santa Barbara, CA.

The pay range for this position is $30.51 - $32.61/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
