Step into a meaningful opportunity making a real difference in students’ lives as a Special Education Teacher on a rewarding contract assignment beginning as soon as possible through May 27, 2027. This role offers a dynamic environment supporting students across age groups, with flexibility in assigned schools and caseload, all within a collaborative educational community.

Your expertise in special education will be highly valued, as you help shape positive outcomes for children with diverse needs. You’ll work 35 hours each week (seven hours per day with a 30-minute unpaid lunch) in a supportive school-based setting where each day brings opportunities to inspire growth and achievement.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active Louisiana Department of Education Certification with SPED endorsement (current certification required)
  • Demonstrated experience teaching special education in a school environment
  • Prepared to complete a drug screening and district fingerprinting as part of credentialing
  • Able to begin work promptly and dedicated to following district protocols
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, working effectively with students and colleagues
  • Only candidates currently licensed in Louisiana will be considered; applicants awaiting licensure are ineligible for this placement

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and group instruction tailored to students’ unique learning needs
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective IEPs
  • Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed
  • Foster a nurturing, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
  • Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to confidentiality guidelines
  • Participate in ongoing professional development as required
