Job Description

Make a meaningful impact supporting students with hearing needs across a diverse educational setting. This contract opportunity is ideal for an experienced Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing eager to work collaboratively across multiple grade levels and school environments. Working in a supportive network of professionals, you’ll provide consultative and direct services, empowering students from preschool through post-secondary transition (Pre-K–13).

Key Skills & Qualifications

State licensure/certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (or eligibility pending)
Demonstrated experience working with children and adolescents with hearing impairments
Proficiency in IEP development, case management, and student progress monitoring
Experience supporting assistive technology for hearing accessibility
Excellent organizational skills to manage a large, multi-building caseload
Strong communication and collaboration abilities with educators, families, and ancillary support teams

Primary Responsibilities

Provide consultative and direct instructional support for a caseload of 48 students across 25 buildings
Develop and implement IEPs, adapting instruction to meet individual student needs
Maintain accurate documentation, reporting, and progress monitoring
Support the use and integration of assistive listening devices and other hearing technologies
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, attending meetings and sharing expertise
Engage with students predominantly through monthly or quarterly consultation, with some requiring more frequent direct instruction
