Counselors work on a structured schedule from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, fostering a balanced work-life experience. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments to identify the specific care needs of elderly clients, establishing appropriate treatment plans tailored to their circumstances.

• Deliver both individual and group counseling sessions focused on addressing emotional challenges related to aging, including but not limited to grief, loss, and life transitions.

• Disseminate educational resources to family members and caregivers about effective strategies for boosting the emotional health of seniors, facilitating better support systems.

• Develop comprehensive care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure holistic support for geriatric residents.

• Guide families through grief counseling, providing them with support and coping strategies during end-of-life issues for their loved ones.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role primarily focuses on the elderly population, including seniors coping with various mental health issues related to aging. Counselors will support clients facing emotional distress associated with life transitions such as retirement, the loss of loved ones, and changes in health status. Understanding and empathy for the unique challenges faced by our older clients will be essential to fostering meaningful therapeutic relationships.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution is required.

• A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) certification is essential to practice in Florida.

Compensation and Benefits\n
