General Summary:  

A nonexempt position responsible for the scheduling and facilitation of pre-payment and collections of medical/legal services provided by physicians within the organization.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for scheduling all appointments for worker’s compensation, IME’s/record review, depositions, trials and conferences.
• Responsible for negotiating fees on behalf of physicians.
• Responsible for completing appropriate contractual documents for securing payment for services from attorneys and insurance companies for physicians to perform medical/legal services.
• Indicates payment arrangements and other pertinent information in EMR system for clinical staff and front desk prior to appointment.
• Documents all correspondence with patients, insurance carriers, and attorneys.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:

 

Knowledge:

• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Knowledge of clinic policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of computer systems, programs, and spreadsheet applications.

Skills:

• Skill in oral and written communication.
• Skill in time management and organization.

Abilities:

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of all business/work information.
• Ability to effectively work with others.
