Business Development Manager (Deerfield Beach)

OverviewThe BDM is responsible for leading the successful execution of multiple large-scale plant construction projects across various locations in Florida, while also contributing to business growth by identifying new project opportunities, strengthening client relationships, and supporting early-stage project development. This role blends operational excellence with strategic market engagement.ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development & Opportunity IdentificationIdentify and support new project opportunities through relationships with contractors, developers, and internal commercial teamsProvide input during early-stage project evaluation (feasibility, timelines, cost considerations)Support proposal development, technical discussions, and project scoping as neededProject Execution & DeliveryLead feasibility studies for proposed capital projects, including cost estimates and schedules, and recommend the most efficient technical solutions to minimize waste and maximize return on investment.Lead permitting, construction, and installation activities.Oversee the full lifecycle of concrete plant construction projects, from planning through commissioning.Manage multiple projects across Florida simultaneously, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery.Track project progress, identify risks early, and implement mitigation plans.Partner with Corporate and Business Unit purchasing teams to define scopes of supply and work for new equipment, construction, installations, and asset upgrades.Evaluate bids using life cycle cost analysis and assess engineering solutions for reliability, maintainability, and total manufacturing cost.Develop and present mitigation plans for bringing projects back in compliance when needed.Prepare reports to present project progress, and inform business units on issues of quality, cost, and schedule compliance.Team Leadership & CoordinationLead and develop a team of project engineers, site managers, and contractorsSet clear priorities, drive accountability, and coach team members for high performanceEnsure strong coordination across engineering, procurement, operations, and financeContractor & Stakeholder ManagementSelect, manage, and evaluate contractor performanceAct as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders (vendors, local authorities, partners)Lead project governance, reporting, and executive updatesPlanning, Budgeting & ControlsDevelop project schedules, budgets, and resource plansTrack and control project costs and performance metricsEnsure consistent use of project management standards and toolsQualificationsEducationBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.Experience10–12+ years of experience managing capital projects in construction or industrial environments; experience in concrete, cement, or other heavy materials is preferred.Job SummaryPosting Location : Location: US-FL-Deerfield BeachCategory: Business Development & StrategyPosition Type: Full-TimeSeniority Level: Mid-Senior level
