Business Development Manager - Custom Chemicals & Institutional Cleaning WSI seeks a highly self‑motivated Business Development Manager (BDM) for its Custom Chemical Solutions (CCS) Division to drive revenue expansion within the custom chemical and institutional cleaning sectors. The BDM will focus on identifying new opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and delivering tailored solutions across distribution, healthcare, food service, education, hospitality, and industrial markets. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute strategic business development plans to drive growth in custom chemical solutions for the institutional cleaning market. Identify, prospect, and secure new customers across distribution, healthcare, food service, education, hospitality, and industrial segments. Build and maintain long‑term relationships with customers, distributors, and industry partners. Collaborate cross‑functionally with R&D, operations, and marketing teams to develop customized chemical solutions that meet customer needs. Manage the complete sales cycle from lead generation through contract negotiation and close. Analyze market trends and the competitive landscape to inform business development strategy. Grow existing accounts through upsell and cross‑sell initiatives. Maintain accurate sales forecasting and pipeline reporting. Represent the company at industry events and trade shows. Support regulatory alignment and ensure compliance with applicable standards. Resolve escalated customer issues through internal coordination. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field. Minimum of 5+ years of business development or sales experience in custom chemical manufacturing, institutional cleaning products, or hand care/sanitizers. Demonstrated track record of driving revenue growth and securing new business. Experience with formulation‑based selling approaches. Cross‑functional collaboration experience with R&D, operations, and supply chain teams. Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills. Technical aptitude for chemical formulations and applications. Proficiency with CRM systems. Established network within institutional cleaning, healthcare, or commercial laundry sectors preferred. Experience navigating regulatory environments (EPA, FDA) preferred. Physical Demands Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Frequently required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and talk or hear. Travel requirement of 50% - 75%. Corporate working environment.
