Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care for women during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods. Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure safe and effective maternal and neonatal outcomes.

Responsibilities:

Assess and monitor maternal and fetal health throughout labor and delivery.
Administer medications and interventions following physician orders and protocols.
Implement bedside procedures including IV insertion, phlebotomy, and conscious sedation.
Educate and support patients and their families during the childbirth process.
Document patient status, interventions, and outcomes accurately in electronic health records.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and infection control protocols.

Qualifications:

Hold a valid New York State RN license.
Possess a minimum of two years of Maternal and Child health experience.
Demonstrate proficiency in IV insertion, phlebotomy, and conscious sedation.
Certified in AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NRP.
Maintain primary source verification of licensure and registration from NYS Department of Education.
