Responsibilities
- Assess patients of all ages using a mix of standardized testing and observational methods for comprehensive evaluation.
- Create tailored treatment plans designed to meet both immediate and prolonged communication, cognitive, and swallowing needs.
- Deliver focused speech therapy sessions targeting language, fluency, voice, and swallowing therapy.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, and family members to ensure a well-rounded approach to care.
- Educate patients and their families to promote progress beyond therapy sessions.
- Occasionally assist with inpatient evaluations and interventions, facilitating a seamless continuum of care.
- Keep meticulous and timely records in compliance with state, federal, and institutional regulations.
- Engage in continuous learning and collaboration with peers to stay updated on the latest advances in speech-language pathology.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is not yet obtained.
- Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within the first 30 days of employment.
- Expertise in evidence-driven treatment methodologies suitable for patients across all age groups, with a solid understanding of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to connect with patients, families, and various healthcare professionals.
- Adept at adapting therapeutic practices to embrace diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Strong diagnostic acumen and problem-solving capabilities.
- Comfortable navigating electronic medical records and documentation requirements.
