Job Details Specialty: Emergency Medicine Position Type: Locum tenens Physician Assistant Location: Altoona, Pennsylvania (16601) Start Date: 12/1/2026 Duration: 13 weeks Shift Duration: 12-hour rotating shifts Shift Times: 7a-7p, 1p-11p, 7p-7a, 10a-10p Coverage Need: 6-12 shifts per month Estimated Weekly Pay: $3,670 - $3,930 Setting: Emergency Department Job Requirements Active Pennsylvania Physician Assistant license At least 1 year of Emergency Department experience Ability to work night shifts as needed ACLS, BLS, and PALS certification through AHA or Red Cross Stroke certification required NIHSS must be kept current annually Stroke CME and EMTALA education completion as required Must be local enough to commute in for scheduled shifts PAs only: Nurse Practitioners cannot be considered for this role Responsibilities Provide emergency medicine care to a wide variety of patients, with a focus on lower-acuity cases Evaluate and treat patients in the Emergency Department Review radiology and blood work when needed Assist with administrative tasks related to patient care Support triage and tech responsibilities when needed Collaborate with the ED team to ensure efficient, high-quality patient flow If you are a Physician Assistant seeking locum tenens emergency medicine jobs in Pennsylvania, apply now to join this Altoona healthcare team today.
