At Antech, pay decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, education, training and budget./ppPURPOSE OF JOB:/ppThe Laboratory Generalist 1 receives and prepares samples for laboratory analysis and tests, sets up instruments, runs tests and reads, interprets, and releases results./ppESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:/pulliReceives and prepares samples for laboratory analysis or sends out tests/liliPerforms startup and required maintenance on analyzers/liliPerform all required quality control per Quality Assurance guidelines./liliTrain in all areas according to all Standard Operating Practices./liliEnter and release results./liliParticipates in improving lab efficiency, quality, and cooperation/liliParticipate in all departmental training programs./liliReconcile pending list./liliPerform other duties as assigned/li/ulpWe share a collaborative obligation to ensure that we conduct ourselves in the utmost ethical manner and that we hold each other accountable to the values and standards of the organization. Antech Diagnostics has several processes in place to communicate with leadership and expects that Associates will have a commitment to integrity and uncompromising values./ppEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:/pulliHigh school diploma or equivalent, 2- or 4-year degree in science-related field preferred./liliPrior lab experience preferred/li/ulpKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES/pulliLaboratory skills and experience/liliGeneral science background/liliAttention to detail and ability to work independently/liliOrganized with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment/liliThe ability to communicate information so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations./liliPersonal computer skills, strong typing ability, and knowledge of Microsoft Office/li/ulpWORKING CONDITIONS:/pulliStationary Position- must be able to remain in a stationary position for up to 2 hours./liliConstantly operates a computer and other lab equipment accurately and efficiently./liliOccasionally required to bend, kneel, stoop, or crouch/liliMay be required to lift, move, and carry up to 50 lbs./liliHeavy microscopic work/liliThe ability to observe details at close range/liliProficiency in the English language which allows for participation in team meetings, accurate entry of data into company systems and understanding of written directions./liliExtended hours may be needed/liliLaboratory environments with potential biohazards present that are mitigated by the mandatory use of PPE./liliWork under close to moderate supervision/liliPotential for exposure to agents known to cause zoonotic disease in humans and use of potentially hazardous chemicals as defined by the National Hazard Communication Standards.
