Lead Software Engineer - AI/ML Developer

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, plus 5+ years of applied experience
• Practical, hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational reliability
• Hands-on experience building, deploying, and maintaining machine learning platforms or infrastructure
• Proficiency in Python and at least one ML framework such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn, along with data tools such as Spark, Pandas, and SQL
• Practical experience with cloud-based ML platforms such as AWS SageMaker, GCP AI Platform, or Azure ML, or equivalent on-premises ML infrastructure
• Demonstrated experience driving effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools, with the ability to set expectations for validating outputs for correctness, performance, and security
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and resiliency and security standards; experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption
• Proficiency across the full Software Development Life Cycle
• Advanced knowledge of agile practices such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security
• In-depth understanding of the financial services industry and its IT systems
• Practical cloud-native experience

• Deliver creative software solutions, including design, development, and technical troubleshooting beyond routine approaches
• Build secure, high-quality production code, and review and debug code written by others
• Drive team adoption of enterprise-approved AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes
• Apply knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle tools, including approved AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase automation value
• Identify opportunities to remove or automate fixes for recurring issues to improve application stability
• Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural design, technical credibility, and fit within existing systems and information architecture
• Design, develop, code, and troubleshoot with awareness of upstream and downstream systems and technical impacts
• Use technical troubleshooting to break down solutions and resolve basic technical problems
• Gather, analyze, and interpret large and varied data sets to identify issues and support decision-making for secure, stable application development
• Learn and apply system processes, methods, and skills to develop secure, stable code and systems
