Retail Store Operations Manager for AI Evaluation

Store Operation Managers apply retail store management and operations expertise to evaluate AI-generated content, produce expert-level training data, and give actionable feedback that improves AI understanding of real-world store workflows, performance reporting, and inventory processes. This is contract, part-time work done remotely, and no prior AI experience is required.

• Review AI-generated responses about store operations for accuracy, completeness, and practical relevance
• Use hands-on knowledge of store performance reporting, cash handling, and inventory reconciliation to evaluate and correct AI outputs
• Create and annotate training examples that reflect real retail workflows and decision points
• Provide clear, written feedback to help refine AI behavior and modeling for retail scenarios
• Work independently with research teams on asynchronous tasks and deliverables

• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in retail store management, for example Store Manager, District Manager, Retail Operations Manager, or equivalent retail operations role
• Practical, hands-on experience with store performance reporting, cash and inventory reconciliation, or related inventory management workflows
• Strong written communication skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to complete tasks independently on an asynchronous schedule

• Remote, part-time, hourly contract engagement
• Flexible, asynchronous schedule with no minimum hour requirement
• Typical participation when active on a project is approximately 5 to 20 hours per week
• Ongoing, project-based assignments that can be performed alongside research, teaching, postdoctoral work, or industry employment
• Independent contractor status, paid on an hourly basis

Up to $80/hr (depending on the project)

Placement on specific projects depends on current needs. Selection for one project does not guarantee placement on future projects, though contributors may be considered for additional assignments as new projects become available.

• F-1 students with appropriate CPT or OPT authorization may be eligible, but you must confirm eligibility with your Designated School Official
• If your school requires enrollment in a CPT course, this contract arrangement may not meet that requirement
• STEM OPT is not supported for this work
