District Manager

District Manager Sunbelt Rentals, a wholly‑owned subsidiary of Ashtead Group plc, seeks a District Manager to lead sales and operations across its network of locations. The role requires strategic leadership, coaching of sales teams, and effective management of profit‑center performance. Objectives Implement company strategy at the district level. Ensure sales consistency and coordinated leadership within the district. Identify and develop future leaders, sales team, and strong support staff. Monitor, analyze, and adjust inventories to maximize district utilization and rental income. Analyze and manage profit‑center cost structures. Recognize industry trends and create action plans for success. Operations Review all Profit Center Profit and Loss Reports and adjust strategy as needed. Develop action plans for each Profit Center Manager outlining tactical steps to achieve monthly, quarterly and annual goals. Coach Profit Center Managers to maximize profits with optimal fleet mix, pricing strategies, service/preventive maintenance programs, utilization, delivery, and fleet sharing between stores. Business Acumen Review performance of stores relative to established plans and take corrective steps as needed. Develop sales marketing plans and execute strategies to support new markets. Perform district forecasting and budgeting. Sales and Customer Service Lead district and profit‑center sales management initiatives. Ensure proper execution of sales plans at the district level. Understand market conditions and identify opportunities to protect and expand current market share through customer interaction. Oversee the development and execution of all sales strategies, plans and programs to increase overall exposure and revenue. Leadership Develop store personnel’s sales, customer service, and communication skills through ongoing development with Profit Center Managers and performance assessment. Coach Profit Center Managers and Sales Representatives in creating and implementing individual development plans. Monitor JumpStart and Quick Start trainees participating in the program. Build bench strength through succession planning to develop a leadership pipeline within the district. Qualifications / Requirements Up to 75% travel required. College degree in Business preferred or equivalent experience. Excellent leadership and organizational skills. Ability to coach, mentor, and develop subordinates. Previous proven supervisory skills. Motivational, inspirational, and results‑oriented leadership. Proven ability to drive results in alignment with Sunbelt values and goals. Physical Demands Requires bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors and outdoors as needed.
