We are looking for an experienced Attorney/Lawyer to support commercial legal matters in Chicago, Illinois. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone with strong in-house experience handling technology-focused agreements, particularly within SaaS environments. The role requires a practical negotiator who can work closely with revenue-driving teams, manage agreement turnaround times efficiently, and provide clear legal guidance across a range of commercial transactions.

Responsibilities:
• Lead the drafting, review, and negotiation of a broad range of commercial agreements, including SaaS and software-related contracts.
• Partner closely with sales stakeholders to move contracts forward quickly while balancing legal risk and business objectives.
• Prepare and revise contract language, respond to redlines, and drive agreements through to execution with minimal oversight.
• Conduct live negotiations with customers and counterparties, taking ownership of legal discussions and proposed terms.
• Provide practical counsel on technology and commercial contracting issues in support of ongoing business operations.
• Manage multiple agreements at once while maintaining accuracy, responsiveness, and strong attention to deadlines.
• Support the legal aspects of sales-driven transactions by identifying issues early and recommending workable solutions.• Demonstrated in-house legal experience handling commercial contracting matters. • Strong background negotiating SaaS, software, or other technology-related agreements. • Proven ability to draft, review, and mark up complex commercial contracts independently. • Experience collaborating directly with sales teams in fast-paced business environments. • Confidence leading contract negotiations by phone or video with external parties. • Ability to work autonomously, prioritize urgent matters, and contribute effectively from day one. • Solid understanding of commercial risk assessment and practical contract strategy.
The pay range for this position is $65 to $85/hr. Benefits available to contract/contract professionals, include medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance.
