Make a direct impact every day by supporting a kindergarten student as a Sign Language Interpreter in an elementary school setting. This contract opportunity centers on providing personalized, one-on-one interpretation, bridging communication between a young learner and the educational team near West Columbia, SC.

Qualifications and Experience:
- Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (state and/or national preferred)
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Experience working in school or educational settings (elementary level experience a plus)
- Ability to interpret effectively for young children
- Strong interpersonal communication and professionalism
- Sensitivity to diverse backgrounds and learning needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver dedicated, one-on-one sign language interpretation for a kindergarten student during the school day
- Facilitate clear communication between the student, teachers, and peers to ensure access to instruction, classroom activities, and school events
- Support the student’s engagement, participation, and social interaction within the elementary school environment
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all settings
- Provide feedback and collaborate with educational staff to enhance communication strategies
- Adapt interpreting techniques to match the developmental level and needs of the student
