The criminal justice major requires courses in Crime Prevention, Policing and Forensics; Corrections, Community-Based Programs and Youth; Impact of Crime and Victimization; and Justice, Equity, and Diversity. The department also offers a certificate in Crime Scene Investigations. Position Available: One or more temporary, part-time lecturers for a pool from which instructors will be considered for appointments as they become available for Fall Semester 2026, and/or Spring Semester 2027. Duties of the Position Teaching one or more courses in the areas of law enforcement, criminal law, corrections, victimology, and forensic science. Assignments may include courses at East Bay sites and/or online. Rank and Salary Lecturer. Salary depends on education and experience. The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience. Date of Appointment Fall Semester begins August 17, 2026; Spring Semester begins January 19, 2027. Qualifications Ph.D. preferred. Minimum M.A./M.S. with university teaching experience and experience in a criminal justice field. Must reside in the State of California, even for online courses.
