Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center is an 881-bed quaternary care academic medical center that is a joint venture between Baylor College of Medicine and CHI St. Luke's Health. Located in the Texas Medical Center, the hospital is the home of the Texas Heart® Institute, a cardiovascular research and education institution founded in 1962 by Denton A. Cooley, MD. The hospital was the first facility in Texas and the Southwest designated a Magnet® hospital for Nursing Excellence by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, receiving the award five consecutive times. Baylor St. Luke's also has three community emergency centers offering adult and pediatric care for the Greater Houston area.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Hospital Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), you will be responsible for the facilitation of nursing practice and the delivery of nursing care, treatment, and services for your respective hospital.

Every day you will provide leadership and strategic direction for all care traditionally considered nursing care for your hospital. In partnership with the hospital CMO (or similar role), you will lead patient care initiatives that support the provision of consistent clinical performance and practice standards. You will review quality performance with hospital leadership, facilitate the analysis of quality performance, and prioritize improvement opportunities. You will have primary responsibility for establishing and ensuring clinical patient care standards are achieved in a cost-effective manner, and for establishing nursing services consistent with overall hospital values and goals to deliver the highest quality nursing services. You will also foster a practice environment conducive to excellence.

Job Requirements

• Master's Degree in Nursing, required,
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing,
• 10+ years of healthcare experience
• 4-6 years of leadership experience in nursing

Preferred:

• Certified as a nurse executive
