Diesel Mechanic & General Maintenance

Job Title

Responsibilities

• Create maintenance schedules for all equipment, to include heavy machinery and diesel forklifts
• Diesel engine knowledge, forklift repair and maintenance
• Boiler and pressure vessel knowledge or willing to learn
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair material handling and lumber milling equipment.
• Capable of ordering and inventory of parts
• Maximize equipment operation by creating and scheduling preventative maintenance
• Install necessary appliances and equipment as needed
• Check control panels and electrical wiring to identify issues
• Maintain grounds, including garden and yard upkeep, trimming, edging, mowing lawn, collecting trash, etc.
• Perform necessary cleaning activities, such as dusting, mopping, etc.
• Complete regular maintenance tasks, such as replacing light bulbs
• Inspect and troubleshoot various equipment and systems

Requirements

• Proven experience as a maintenance worker or other similar position, preferably in a corporate setting
• Mechanically inclined, ability to troubleshoot various equipment/machines
• Basic working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
• Experience working with tools, including hand and electrical tools
• Ability to read and utilize technical manuals and drawings
• Passion for creative problem solving
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Physical Abilities

• Long periods of standing and walking
• Stooping, kneeling and crouching when repairing or maintaining equipment
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75lbs
