Duties

Help

As a Logistics Management Specialist at the GS-0346-13 some of your typical work assignments may include:

  • Coordinates Joint Petroleum Enterprise Governance (JPEG) oversight and direct inputs to Global Posture Executive Council (GPEC).
  • Develops products for GPEC, Program Budget Reviews, Integrated Priority Lists, Issue Nominations, JPEC decisions/proposals with other forums for increased senior leader oversight/decision making (i.e., Combatant Command/Service 4 and other engagements) for infrastructure
  • Leads and coordinate working groups (WGs) comprised of USTRANSCOM and stakeholder subject matter experts (SME) to develop, coordinate, review, and updates, and development of policies that effect the JDDE and JPE for infrastructure and presents those ideas to leadership.
  • Makes recommendations to Commander USTRANSCOM and JPE leadership for fuels infrastructure project management regarding issues/policies that strategically impact the global, end-to-end, bulk fuel supply chain.
  • Prepares and presents senior-level briefings containing conclusions, many being highly subjective and not readily verifiable until actual operational situations are encountered.

  • This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use
  • Travel and relocation expenses, if approved, will be paid IAW JTR and AFMAN 36-606
  • Employee will be required to travel by commercial or military aircraft in the performance of temporary (TDY/TAD) assignments
  • May be required to participate in non-traditional work schedules involving participation in round the clock operations, or otherwise work beyond, or outside of traditional hours, or work or tours of duty.
Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications:

One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service:
  • Analyze and assess complex petroleum logistics issues and clearly articulate solutions and findings to leadership across the DoW.
  • Leads Infrastructure planning, programming, budgeting, and execution processes.
  • Leads working groups to develop, coordinate, and develop policies and present those ideas to higher management.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.

This position is subject to an initial drug screening, and random testing thereafter. A negative drug test result must be received by HR within 30 calendar days after the EOD (i.e., start date).
