Operations Manager - Commercial Mechanical & Boiler Services

Are you an experienced Operations Manager with a background in mechanical contracting, plumbing, HVAC, boiler services, facilities, or industrial service operations ?

We are partnering with a highly respected, family-owned commercial boiler services company with more than 80 years of success . Due to continued growth, they are seeking an Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day operations, coordinate field and office activities, and help ensure projects and service work are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on operations professional who understands the service trades and enjoys managing people, solving problems, coordinating manpower, and keeping customers informed .

What You'll Do

Manage day-to-day field and office operations
Schedule and coordinate service calls, repairs, maintenance, and projects
Coordinate technicians, manpower, materials, and equipment
Monitor job schedules, budgets, productivity, and project timelines
Support job costing, work orders, invoicing, and documentation
Communicate with commercial and industrial customers regarding job status and scheduling
Troubleshoot operational and field issues to minimize delays and downtime
Assist with purchasing materials, parts, tools, and equipment
Oversee fleet and facility operations
Maintain compliance with OSHA requirements, company safety standards, and applicable industry codes
Work closely with technicians, office staff, customers, vendors, and company leadership

What We're Looking For

5+ years of operations, management, or supervisory experience within mechanical contracting, plumbing, HVAC, industrial services, facilities, or a related skilled-trades environment
OR strong plumbing/mechanical experience combined with property management, facilities oversight, and staff management experience
Commercial boiler experience is a strong plus
Working knowledge of mechanical systems, boilers, plumbing, HVAC, or related equipment preferred
Experience coordinating field technicians, service calls, projects, or maintenance operations
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Comfortable working directly with customers, technicians, vendors, and management
Familiarity with work order, scheduling, and job management software
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
