Staff Accountant

Advisory Services firm located in Bethesda, MD is in search of a Staff Accountant to join their client services team. This individual will provide accounting services and advisory support services to a diverse client base in real estate, construction, professional services, non-profits, healthcare, high net worth individuals and more. Each client is unique with differing needs, so you can expect challenge and variety. About the Role This is an entry level position with in-house training and various industry certifications. Salary range is $50 - 74k dependent upon education and experience. Responsibilities Our client is looking for someone who is working toward, or has, an accounting degree with a solid understanding of accrual and cash basis accounting, balance sheets, income statements, journal entries, general ledgers, trial balances, and chart of accounts. The position also requires an understanding of payroll processing and quarterly and annual payroll tax filings, attention to detail and the ability to multi-task. QuickBooks proficiency and Excel skills will be needed to be a strong performer in this role, and our client is willing to train and mentor. Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting preferred. Will consider candidates who have not achieved Bachelor's degree but have made significant progress including all accounting courses. Proficiency in Excel. 1 - 2+ years of accounting experience a plus.
