About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President for Media Planning and Buying. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing client briefs and category dynamics to develop customized media strategies that address client challenges. This role involves leading the development of integrated, data-driven media strategies and channel mixes, with a focus on the unique strengths of both traditional and digital media channels. The VP will also be involved in evaluating various market dynamics, including geographic nuances, audience targeting, and the coordination of promotions to different consumer segments. Engaging with the Data & Analytics team to support strategic recommendations and coordinating with other subject matter experts during the planning process is essential. The role requires a high level of comfort in new business situations and the ability to present media assignments and recommendations to clients. Candidates for this position should have a Bachelor's degree (preferred) and at least 8 years of experience in integrated offline and online media planning, with a strong background in the pharmaceutical category. Experience in both consumer/patient and HCP media planning is a plus. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in end-to-end plan development, be adept at using data to uncover insights, and have a high degree of comfort in new business situations. The role demands a strategic thinker who can apply learnings from one client to another and is skilled at drawing and communicating parallels to adapt strategies for new circumstances. The VP will be expected to work closely with the media-vendor community and have a good understanding of publisher offerings and buying models, although detailed tactical planning and buying will not be a primary focus of the role.
