You’ll build trusted relationships with colleagues at all levels, including PEG team members, Managers, Senior Managers and senior leadership.You’ll also collaborate with colleagues across Talent, Business Operations and PEG Operations to ensure our people and business priorities remain closely connected.WHERE YOU’LL FIT WITHIN THE TEAMYou’ll serve as a highly visible people leader for the Bay Area and Seattle Private Equity Group, helping us create an exceptional experience for our teams while ensuring we have the right people and capabilities in place to serve our clients.Your role will combine people leadership, staffing and capacity management, program management and PEG operations. You’ll balance the needs of our people with evolving business priorities, using sound judgment, strong analytical skills and an understanding of individual development goals to make thoughtful staffing and resource decisions.You’ll also help shape and execute strategic initiatives across PEG, partnering closely with senior leaders to strengthen connectivity, professional development, team effectiveness and the overall experience of working within the group.WHAT YOU’LL DOLead staffing and people planningLead staffing decisions for Associate Consultants, Consultants and Managers within the PEG team structure, balancing client needs, business priorities and individual professional development.Recommend team lead staffing while considering business needs, individual interests and specializations, continuity, development opportunities and team effectiveness.Partner with PEG Operations and senior leaders to monitor the case pipeline, team capacity and availability.Maintain and evolve persistent PEG teams, balancing team strength, tenure, continuity and development needs.Work closely with senior leaders to understand project staffing requirements and identify strong matches based on client, office and individual needs.Monitor assignments to help ensure individuals gain a variety of consulting experiences and development opportunities.Meet regularly with PEG team leaders to anticipate team changes, backfills and upcoming staffing needs.Track planned vacations, training and other absences and develop coverage plans in advance.Support timely and appropriate feedback for Managers and Senior Managers.Support onboarding, training and development for new PEG team leads.Coordinate targeted interventions with leadership when project teams require additional support.Manage the pipeline of talent progressing toward Manager and Senior Manager roles.Manage capacity and workforce planningDrive team and capacity planning, including decisions about when individuals enter and rotate out of PEG teams.Maintain an accurate view of PEG staffing, including tenure, expected transitions and planned absences.Monitor the mix of talent by level and help ensure PEG staffing remains appropriately aligned with broader office needs.Maintain sufficient capacity to cover planned absences, larger project teams and changing client demand.Anticipate team leader transitions and develop potential staffing solutions.Manage capacity several weeks ahead to identify potential demand surges, staffing gaps and backfill requirements.Partner with Talent, Business Operations and PEG Operations leadership to balance client service, individual development and utilization.Coordinate with broader staffing teams to determine movement into and out of PEG based on business and professional development needs.Review short-term staffing needs and help ensure PEG resources remain aligned with office priorities.Drive PEG priorities and operationsHelp identify strategic priorities and initiatives for PEG by gathering perspectives from leadership, building alignment and driving progress against agreed goals.Communicate priorities across the broader PEG leadership team and help build engagement and participation.Develop materials and help lead discussions for weekly Bay Area PEG leadership meetings.Build agendas and coordinate monthly PEG All Hands meetings, including presenting key updates and announcements.Lead and coordinate strategic initiatives involving senior PEG leaders.Help shape initiatives designed to make PEG an exceptional place to work within Bain.Coordinate focus groups across tenure levels, as needed, to understand and address team pain points.Track progress against key initiatives and help leadership maintain momentum and accountability.Support training, coaching and developmentParticipate in North America regional training sessions.Support innovation and continuous improvement in PEG training.Facilitate targeted training sessions, including intern and topical training.Coach PEG Managers and Senior Managers as they navigate challenging team situations.Provide one-on-one coaching for Associate Consultants and Consultants stepping into new responsibilities, as needed.Own reporting, tools and planningReview and analyze key business and people metrics.Track Bay Area PEG metrics and regularly communicate insights to PEG leadership.Oversee and manage the annual PEG budget and planning process.Use data and feedback to identify emerging capacity, engagement and team effectiveness needs.Strengthen PEG connectivityServe as a central point of coordination for PEG leadership initiatives, including affiliations, social programming and meetings.Convene periodic leadership check-ins, track progress and help evolve initiative leadership over time.Oversee the calendar of local PEG activities, including All Hands meetings, training and class activities.Lead planning and coordination of annual and quarterly PEG activities with PEG and office leadership.Monitor employee feedback and broader team morale, escalating concerns and helping coordinate timely responses.This role is expected to be in a hybrid work model 3x/week in office. This role is expected to require travel to San Francisco or Seattle approximately three to four times per year to maintain strong relationships and visibility with local teams and leadership.ABOUT YOUYou have a bachelor’s degree in Management, Liberal Arts or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. An MBA is preferred.You have at least 8 years of professional experience, including at least two years of progressive management experience.You preferably have experience in consulting, private equity or a related field.You have experience in professional services operations management, including complex staffing, professional development and stakeholder management.You have outstanding interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and can build trusted relationships with colleagues at all levels.You bring a strong service orientation, meticulous attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.You have strong analytical, problem-solving and quantitative skills.You can manage highly confidential information appropriately and exercise sound judgment.You can prioritize effectively, meet deadlines and manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-moving environment.You are proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.US COMPENSATION INFORMATIONCompensation for this role includes base salary, annual discretionary performance bonus, 401(k) plan with an annual employer contribution based on years of service and Bain’s best in class benefits package (details listed below).Some local governments in the United States require a good-faith, reasonable salary range to be included in job postings for open roles. The estimated annualized compensation for this role is as follows:In California, the good-faith, reasonable annualized full-time salary range for this role is $222,000-267,000. Placement within this range will vary based on several factors including, but not limited to, experience, education, licensure/certifications, training and skill level.In Washington State, the good-faith, reasonable annualized full-time salary range for this role is $204,000-245,000.
