Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) provides direct patient care and supports nursing staff in delivering individualized care to residents. The role involves assessing residents, documenting conditions, assisting with daily activities, and ensuring prompt response to patient needs. Effective communication and teamwork with residents, families, and healthcare staff are essential to promote quality care and a supportive environment. Responsibilities:

• Receive and give report on residents' conditions ensuring clear understanding of care plans.
• Make rounds on each resident, assessing new admissions and those who are ill, injured, or have fallen.
• Document assessments and resident status according to facility policies.
• Notify nurses promptly of any changes in resident conditions or care needs.
• Assist with direct patient care, including responding promptly to call lights.
• Promote positive working relationships with other departments, co-workers, residents, families, and physicians.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support resident care and facility operations.

• Valid California CNA license.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team.
• Basic patient care skills including assessment and documentation.

• Experience working in a skilled nursing facility or similar healthcare setting.
• Familiarity with electronic medical record documentation.
• CPR/BLS certification.

• May be required to work some weekends and holidays.
• Flexibility to float to other units as necessary.
• Must maintain good communication and teamwork skills.

• All shifts available, including days, evenings, and nights.
• Shift assignments may vary and include weekends and holidays.
