Director, Psychiatry - Emergency Services

Overview Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is hiring a Director, Psychiatry - Emergency Services to work at NYC Health + Hospitals / North Central Bronx. The hospital is a 213-bed community facility with a strong academic affiliation with AlbertEinsteinCollege of Medicine. Responsibilities The Department of Psychiatry includes three Adult Inpatient Units, a satellite CPEP, a Psychiatry Consultation-Liaison service, a Partial Hospital Program, an Outpatient Department, and an ACT team. Oversee delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care and collaborate with leaders across inpatient, ambulatory, and Emergency Medicine departments. Play a key role in Patient Safety and Clinical Effectiveness. Provide leadership in undergraduate medical education, including teaching of medical students, PA students, psychology interns, and social work students. Manage incident review and participate in departmental IR meetings. Review and revise guidelines for standards of care to ensure compliance with DOH, CMS, Joint Commission, and OMH regulations. Qualifications Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry. Active New York State Medical License. At least 2 years of clinical and leadership experience. Wages and Benefits Annual Base Salary: $303,000 (based on a 40‑hour work week). The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated at $373,300, which includes salary, 401(k) contributions, and other factors. Projected bonus up to $40,000 based on previous year’s average, contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets. 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS limits): Immediate 3% company contribution of base earnings; no employee match. After one year of service, additional 7% contribution of base earnings; no employee match. Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) Reimbursement. Generous annual paid time off (Vacation, Sick, Holiday, and CME days). Medical, prescription, and dental coverage with employee contributions below market rates. Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) coverage equal to 2x salary (up to $300,000) at no cost to the employee. Additional voluntary life and AD&D coverage available for employee and family. Loan forgiveness program eligibility. Medical malpractice coverage (occurrence-based) at no cost. Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs). Pre-tax employee-paid contributions for commuting expenses. Visa sponsorship will be considered.
