We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and patient-focused Ophthalmic Scribe to join our growing team in The Woodlands.
Position Summary
This full-time position supports a cornea, cataract, and refractive ophthalmologist during patient examinations while ensuring accurate, timely clinical documentation. The ideal candidate has ophthalmic experience, strong EMR skills, and thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Document physician-patient encounters, exam findings, diagnostic test results, and treatment plans in the EMR.
- Assist ophthalmologists and optometrists during patient examinations.
- Enter appropriate CPT codes and maintain accurate, compliant patient records.
- Prepare charts, anticipate provider needs, and help maintain efficient patient flow.
- Communicate professionally with patients, physicians, and staff.
- Maintain confidentiality and documentation standards.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in an ophthalmology or vision care practice as an Ophthalmic Scribe, Technician, or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of ophthalmic terminology, diagnostic testing, EMR systems, and clinical documentation.
- Experience supporting an ophthalmic surgeon strongly preferred.
- Cornea experience is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and multitasking skills.
- Professional, dependable, and patient-focused.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Schedule - Hours of Operation
- Monday through Thursday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Friday: 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM
