Infusion Nurse

The START Center for Cancer Research ("START") is the world’s largest early phase site network, fully dedicated to oncology clinical research. Location: 5800 Foremost Dr SE, Grand Rapids, Michigan 49546 Work Schedule: 4 X 10 shifts, 7:30am‑6pm, Days TBD Responsibilities Administer chemotherapy/immunotherapy/investigational agents to participants according to protocols and regulations. Perform study‑related activities, including venipuncture, blood specimen collection, IV insertion, venous access device (central line) management, ECG collection, and vital signs monitoring. Collect biological samples and record data per protocol and SOPs. Educate and inform participants about study procedures and potential side effects. Observe participant well‑being, document adverse events, and take appropriate action. Respond to emergency situations following nursing standards. Assist with clinic day preparation, ensuring necessary supplies and EHR/PQRS quality completion. Mentor less tenured staff and communicate patient status changes to providers. Collaborate with study team to ensure all study‑related procedures, drug administration, labs, vital signs, and ECG are completed. Maintain current emergency certifications and adhere to company policies. Work efficiently under tight deadlines, high volumes, and multiple interruptions. Qualifications – Required High School Diploma or GED. Licensed Registered Nurse in a practicing state. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through an AHA‑approved program. Experience with peripheral IV insertion and venous access device management. Preferred Qualifications 1 year of nursing experience. Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN). Experience in clinical trials and oncology settings. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Teams, Excel, Word). Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from an AHA program (obtainable within 90 days of hire).
