Executive Business Development Leader - Remote Midwest

Our client is an independent business and technology advisory firm providing strategic executive consulting services to middle-market organizations. The firm partners with executive leadership teams to develop long-term business strategies, strengthen operational performance, improve cybersecurity posture, optimize technology investments, and enhance organizational effectiveness. Summary: The Business Development Executive will work alongside a highly collaborative group of senior business leaders and subject matter experts focused on growing the firm's national presence and expanding client relationships across targeted industries. Success in this role requires confidence engaging C-suite executives, uncovering business challenges, and clearly articulating how a consultative advisory approach delivers measurable business value. This is a strategic relationship development role designed for someone who enjoys influencing executive-level decisions through long-term partnerships rather than transactional sales cycles. While this position supports growth nationally, preference is for an individual located within the Midwest due to the concentration of manufacturing and distribution clients. Specific Responsibilities: Develop and execute a personalized business development strategy in partnership with senior leadership, focused on building high-value executive relationships and generating new client opportunities. Build, expand, and maintain a strategic network of Centers of Influence (COIs), creating a sustainable pipeline of executive introductions and long-term business opportunities. Lead strategic discovery conversations that help executives identify opportunities related to business strategy, operational effectiveness, governance, cybersecurity, digital transformation, and technology leadership. Represent the organization at conferences, networking events, professional associations, and industry forums while expanding executive visibility and generating new business opportunities. Collaborate with internal subject matter experts to develop advisory solutions that address client business challenges. Maintain a disciplined cadence of executive outreach, COI engagement, prospect meetings, follow-up activity, and CRM documentation. Clearly communicate the organization's value proposition through thoughtful executive-level conversations that build credibility, trust, and long-term partnerships. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree with at least 5+ years in developing executive-level relationships and selling managed services, consultancy services in the IT technology arena to industry (manufacturing, distribution, construction, and commercial real estate space space).
