Our manufacturing client is seeking a hands-on Controller to lead the accounting function for a fast-paced manufacturing organization . This role requires a strategic yet operational leader with strong knowledge of NetSuite , in addition to technical accounting, process improvement, and manufacturing finance experience. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive, roll-up-your-sleeves approach and help build scalable financial operations to support growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily accounting operations, including general ledger, close, reconciliations, reporting, and internal controls.
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and ensure GAAP compliance.
- Strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and approval controls.
- Partner with leadership to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
- Drive process improvements across accounting and finance for efficiency, scalability, and accuracy.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial planning.
- Partner with operations and plant leadership to improve financial discipline and manufacturing reporting.
- Oversee inventory and cost accounting, including reconciliations, reserve analysis, valuation, average costing, and variance reporting.
- Lead cycle counts, physical inventory, discrepancy resolution, and inventory adjustment controls.
- Support audits, tax, lender reporting, and external relationships.
- Optimize ERP processes in NetSuite and improve reporting automation and data integrity.
- Mentor and develop accounting staff.
Required Qualifications
- 7–10+ years of Controllership experience with progressive leadership responsibility.
- Manufacturing industry experience required.
- NetSuite experience required.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory accounting, and average costing in manufacturing.
- Proven success improving accounting processes in fast-paced environments.
- Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA or MBA is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Private equity-backed company experience preferred.
- Experience supporting growth, transformation, or change.
- Experience building scalable accounting processes and close procedures.
