The Person County Department of Social Services is seeking a customer-focused, organized, and detail-oriented Office Assistant IV to join the Child Support Unit. This position plays a vital role in supporting the unit's mission of improving the well-being of children and families by helping ensure that court-ordered child support is collected efficiently and consistently. The starting salary will be determined with consideration given to both the candidate's educational background and relevant work experience. Must possess a valid driver’s license and have an acceptable driving record per County policy. This is a non-exempt position working 37.5 hours weekly/1950 hours annually. The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary. Essential Functions Provides customer service for calls and visits. Completes income withholding and mail to employers. Enters address and employment data into system. Performs related work as assigned. Qualifications High School Graduation or GED equivalent. Two (2) years of customer service, clerical support or related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
