Job Opportunity – Labor & Delivery RN – North Carolina

Start Date: November 2, 2026

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15), every other weekend required with a minimum of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule. 13 to 26 week contract options available. No call requirement. Float capability required to high-risk OB unit as needed.

Highlights:

• High-volume birthing center averaging 20+ deliveries per 24-hour period and managing over 300 births per month
• Fast-paced, high-acuity unit handling intrapartum, high-risk antepartum, postpartum care, and obstetrical triage
• Patient population includes obstetrical patients 16 weeks and greater; scheduled and unscheduled Cesarean births, rescue cervical cerclage procedures
• 2:1 nurse-to-patient ratios; double labor assignments are routine on this dynamic unit
• Epic charting system with Pyxis medication management and SBAR communication protocols
• 24 hours of unit orientation with scrubs provided

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required; 3 years strongly preferred
• Current experience working in a high-volume birthing center with 300+ deliveries per month is essential
• Proficiency in circulating for Cesarean sections, sterile vaginal exams, and immediate newborn care
• Current certifications: BLS, AWHONN Intermediate (or C-EFM), and NRP
• Epic charting system experience required
• Experience with high-risk antepartum care, obstetrical triage, and labor assessment
• Competency in IV starts/maintenance, pain management, fetal monitoring interpretation, and isolation precautions
• North Carolina or Compact nursing license
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
