Travel RN - Telemetry - Progressive Care Unit

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Step-Down position requiring a minimum of 1.5 years of recent equivalent experience and NH or Compact RN licensure.

Job Details

• 48-bed step-down unit providing cardiology, electrophysiology (EP), and cardiac surgical care in a hospital setting,
• Patient population includes cardiothoracic surgical patients, pre- and post-op CHF, vascular, pulmonary hypertension, and telemetry patients,
• Day/Night rotation, 36 hours per week,
• Patient ratios: 1:3 on days, 1:4-5 on nights depending on acuity,
• Step-down procedures include hemodynamic monitoring, invasive BP monitoring via arterial lines, BiPAP/CPAP, external pacers, epicardial wires, TR bands, low-dose pressors, vasoactive medications, and inotropes (Nitro, Primacor, Dobutamine, Dopamine),
• Med/surg-level skills utilized include chest tubes, telemetry, complex wounds, central line care and maintenance (including blood draws), trachs/laryngectomies, and drips such as Diltiazem, Heparin, Lasix, Insulin, and Amiodarone,

Job Requirements

• Active NH RN license or Compact RN license required; proof of state residency required for Compact license holders,
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required,
• Minimum 1.5 years of recent, equivalent PCU/step-down or comparable experience required,
• Recent Level 1 or comparable Level 2 Trauma experience within the last 2 years required,
• 2 manager references required for consideration,
