Registered Nurse - Ambulatory - OR

Infusion Nurse
Infusion nurses primarily care for stable patients receiving treatments such as: chemotherapy and immunotherapy (the contract nurse need NOT be Chemo certified there are plenty of other patients we need assistance with) iron infusions biologic medications antibiotics hydration therapy blood products. Focus: reviewing treatment plans and laboratory results assessing patient readiness for treatment administering infusions safely monitoring for infusion reactions educating patients and families coordinating care with providers pharmacy and schedulers. A typical infusion nurse may: assess patients before treatment. verify orders labs allergies and treatment parameters. start peripheral IVs or access ports/PICCs. administer premedications and infusions. monitor patients for side effects or hypersensitivity reactions. provide education regarding medications and symptom management. document treatment and coordinate follow-up care.
