Part-Time CDL Driver For Athletics Department

Western Colorado University Athletics Department is seeking a part-time, as-needed CDL driver. Must have a Class B CDL with passenger endorsement, no air-brake restriction, and an excellent driving record. Compensation is $35/hour up to 6 hours or $350/day plus per diem.

The bus driver will transport Western athletes to competitions in Colorado and throughout the west. The driver must safely and confidently operate a 56-passenger motor-coach or a 30-passenger shuttle bus in various weather conditions including rain, ice, and snow over mountainous roads. The driver must be available for overnight trips and late night returns to Gunnison. They must work with coaching staff to deal with any changes or interruptions in trip itinerary. The driver conducts vehicle pre-trip and post trip inspections and complies with Western's vehicle services policies and procedures.

Minimum qualifications include a current Colorado Class B CDL with passenger endorsement, no air-brake restriction, and an excellent driving record. Employment is subject to successful previous employer record check, department of motor vehicle record check, FMCSA drug and alcohol clearinghouse query, and pre-employment drug screening.
