VMware Administrator
Maxonic maintains a close and long-term relationship with our direct client. In support of their needs, we are looking for a VMware Administrator.
Job Type: Contract (6+ months)
Job Location: Spokane WA, Concord CA, or Atlanta GA or Remote
Work Schedule: Hybrid, 3 days a week onsite or Remote
Pay Rate- $70-85 Based on Experience
Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain a large-scale VMware vSphere environment (1000+ VMs), including vCenter, ESXi, and vSAN.
- Perform performance monitoring, capacity planning, and troubleshooting of complex VMware issues.
- Implement and manage VMware High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions.
- Configure and manage virtual networking (vSwitches, distributed switches, VLANs) and storage solutions.
- Automate VMware tasks using PowerShell and PowerCLI.
- Ensure security compliance and implement VMware security best practices.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of the VMware environment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to ensure seamless infrastructure operations.
- Participate in on-call rotation.
Qualifications:
- 5-7 years of hands-on experience as a VMware Administrator in large enterprise environments.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certification is a plus.
- Expert knowledge of VMware vSphere, vSAN, and related technologies.
- Strong understanding of storage and networking concepts.
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and PowerCLI.
- Experience with VMware vRealize Automation (vRA) or similar automation tools is highly desirable.
- Experience with VMware NSX is a plus.
- Experience with hardware from vendors such as Dell, and HPE is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
