Join our team and be part of an organization that values teamwork, integrity, and a commitment to a sustainable future.This position is a mobile operator position serving NSU's Southern New Jersey Service Area or NSU's Northern New Jersey Service Area. The Mobile Wastewater Operator provides operations and maintenance support to various wastewater facilities as directed. The Mobile Operator is an independent and well-organized self-starter who is capable of managing his or her schedule to complete assigned site coverage requirements as noted below.Duties and Responsibilities:Perform critical testing of facility operations, such as PH, dissolved oxygen, chlorine, etc., in order to monitor system conditionPerform general preventative maintenance on treatment plant equipment such as blower oil, filter and belt changes pulling and inspecting submersible pumps, etc.Maintain complete, accurate, legible records of all phases of facility operationsMaintain complete, accurate, legible records of all equipment and plant maintenanceAssist in preparing monthly written operating report based on facility's operation and/or maintenance records for the client, employer or regulatory agency as requiredInform Supervisor in a timely manner of plant problems, upsets, plant expansion, repairs, etc.Work conscientiously, adhere to EH&S policies and processes, and be aware of and report safety hazardsParticipates in a 24 hour on call rotationBe prepared to discuss in a professional manner the plant operations with employer, client, visitors or regulatory personnelCollect required samples, log in samples correctly and accurately, and submit samples to laboratory and review results to ensure permit complianceOperate plants to meet all regulatory guidelines and responsibilitiesParticipate in 24-hour on-call rotation within the designated service area.Assist maintenance personnel with pump, blower, motor, valve, etc. removalMaintain accurate records for gasoline, mileage, timesheets, expenses, etc.Work scheduled weekends and occasional holidays for assigned routeProject a positive image to operators, clients, regulatory agencies, engineers, etc.Confined Space Entry – this may be required on occasion after thorough training provided by NSUPerforms other related duties as assigned by managementQualifications:Must be 21 years of age or olderHold a valid NJ: S-3 and C-3 Wastewater Licenses.
