The primary purpose of this position, PRODUCTION SUPPORT SPECIALIST, NH-0301-03, is to plan, develop, implement, and revise the master production schedule. Manage the overall Programmed Depot Maintenance (PDM) project in order to improve the flow day reduction of aircraft by removing bottlenecks and/or roadblocks that affect the critical path. Responsibilities Develop, implement, analyze, and revise the master production schedule for aircraft maintenance production plan throughputs. Plan, organize, and oversee the activities of the organization, ensuring that logistics workforce management related operations comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customer needs. Participate in special logistics workforce related operation projects and initiatives and perform special assignments. Represent the organization with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-02, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-11 or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience is experience in identifying issues or problems concerning efficiency and effectiveness of the program and/or strategic sourcing by applying analytical and evaluative techniques; evaluating current organizational strategies and performance by applying a thorough understanding of the missions, functions, and organization of the agency or component; applying organizational concepts, principles, and practices as related to the requirements for performance-based logistics, acquisition, supply maintenance, procurement procedures, manufacturing, strategic sourcing, and other support areas; leading, working with, and managing various groups or individuals to resolve difficult problems/situations as related to organizational issues, and deploying lean concepts in problem resolution; applying complex organizational regulations, methods, operating procedures, and policies, as well as developing methods and operating procedures as required. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Extensive knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques for the identification, consideration, and resolution of issues or problems concerning efficiency and effectiveness of the program and/or strategic sourcing. Master knowledge of overall missions, functions, and organization of the agency or component. Ability to apply the knowledge to evaluate current organizational strategies and performance. Extensive knowledge of organizational concepts, principles, and practices as related to the requirements for performance-based logistics, acquisition., supply maintenance, procurement procedures, manufacturing, strategic sourcing, and other support areas. Ability to work with, lead, and manage various groups or individuals to resolve difficult problems/situations as related to organizational issues. Ability to understand and deploy lean concepts in problem resolution. Skill in interpreting and applying complex DOD, USAF, AFMC, and AFSC regulations, methods, operating procedures, and policies, as well as developing methods and operating procedures as required. Education Additional Information Hill Air Force Base provides worldwide engineering and logistics management for the F-16 Fighting Falcon, A-10 Thunderbolt II, and the Minuteman III ICBM, and performs depot maintenance of the F-16, A-10, and C-130 Hercules aircraft. The base is located between Ogden and Salt Lake City. The area is known for year round activities, including skiing, hiking, boating, extreme sports, fishing and hunting, with four distinct seasons, low humidity and moderate snow fall in the valley. This is an acquisition demonstration project position NH-03 equivalent to a GS-12 to GS-13.
