POSITION OVERVIEW

John Boos & Co. is seeking a highly capable  Estimator responsible for quoting custom stainless steel projects and assisting Food Service and Super Market accounts.  This is a local, onsite, position that requires 100% of the work performed in the office.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for quoting all required requests for quotation promptly and professionally. 
• Responsible for providing and maintaining proper back-up, figures, and notes of how the quotation is prepared. 
• Required to obtain accurate information from the Engineering Department for quoting purposes, not limited to costing or manufacturing capabilities. 
• Review purchase orders and cross-reference to quote for accuracy. 
• Work closely with Engineering to ensure custom pieces have assigned model numbers or proper modification so orders can be entered promptly and properly.
• Responsible for coordinating production and lead times with Order Entry when a quote becomes an order. 
• Responsible for communicating and following up on time under the direction of the VP of Sales. 
• Assist Food Service and Super Market accounts with inquiries via phone, fax, and/or email.

EDUCATION & TRAINING

Associate’s or Technical Degree in Business, Sales, Costing or related field preferred.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

1-3 Years experience in quoting, costing or estimating.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Proficient understanding of Auto Quotes, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office. 
• Proficient in Mathematics.
• Efficiency in reading, calculating, and scaling all measurements on customer-supplied drawings. 
• Good written and verbal communications skills.
• Customer Service skills.
• Comprehensive understanding of the stainless-steel industry including materials, processes, and best practices.
• Knowledge of Metal Fabrication a Plus. 
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately. 
• Good understanding of financial principles. 
• Detail-oriented to ensure all aspects of a project are accounted for in an estimate.
