Benefits Administrator

Benefits Administrator (Contract-to-Hire) Location: Bethesda, MD Our client, a rapidly growing organization, is seeking a Benefits Administrator to join their HR team on a contract basis with strong potential for long-term growth. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional with experience in benefits and leave administration who is looking to expand their expertise in a collaborative, high-visibility environment. This role is expected to last 6‑12 months, with the possibility of permanent conversion for a successful candidate based on business needs and performance. Key Responsibilities Support the administration of employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement, wellness, commuter, and spending account programs. Assist employees with benefits‑related questions and enrollment support. Participate in employee education initiatives and benefits communication. Administer leave of absence programs, including disability and accommodation requests. Coordinate employee leave cases and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Serve as a resource for employees and managers regarding leave policies and procedures. Maintain compliance with benefits and leave regulations. Partner with HR and management teams to address employee inquiries and provide guidance on benefits and leave matters. Support audits, reconciliations, funding requests, and other administrative processes. Maintain employee records and benefits data within HR systems. Assist with reporting, data analysis, and reconciliation activities. Support ongoing process improvements and operational initiatives. Qualifications Bilingual in English and Spanish is required. 2–4 years of HR, benefits, leave administration, or employee relations experience. Experience supporting Leave of Absence (LOA), disability, ADA accommodations, or benefits administration. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain policies and programs clearly to a diverse employee population. Experience working in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Workday or a similar HRIS platform. Knowledge of benefits regulations and leave administration processes. Strong Excel and data management skills.
