Accounting Manager

DescriptionPosition OverviewRobert Half is partnering with a Family owned O& G company in Denver to add an Accounting Manager to their team. This is a hands-on role that involves working closely with the President and a small, self-sufficient accounting team that includes Accounts Payable and Revenue Accounting.While the title is Accounting Manager, this position is best suited for someone who enjoys being in the details—a true “workhorse” role responsible for daily accounting operations, general ledger management, financial reporting, and tax preparation support.Key ResponsibilitiesManage all aspects of general ledger accounting, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.Prepare and analyze internal financial statements and reports for management.Maintain cash activity and perform cash reconciliations.Prepare annual workpapers and support documentation for external CPA firm during tax preparation.Coordinate with external CPA on depletion, depreciation, and other adjusting entries.Collaborate closely with AP and Revenue Accounting to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.Participate in process improvements and maintain internal accounting controls.Support ad hoc financial projects and reporting needs as they arise.RequirementsQualifications10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in upstream oil & gas operations preferred.Experience in a small company environment, comfortable handling multiple aspects of accounting.Strong understanding of oil and gas accounting practices and revenue cycles.Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred (not required).Hands-on, self-motivated professional who thrives in a collaborative, team-oriented setting.Proficient with accounting software; experience with Quorum is a plus.Excellent attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.Job typePerm
