Patient Service Coordinator

Role Description The Patient Service Coordinator is a full-time, on-site position based in Herndon, VA. This role is responsible for greeting patients, managing check-in and check-out processes, and ensuring a positive experience throughout their visit. Daily tasks include scheduling and confirming appointments, answering phone calls, handling inquiries, and maintaining accurate patient records. The coordinator verifies insurance information, explains basic coverage details, and uses medical terminology to support efficient communication with clinical staff. This role also involves collaborating with providers and team members to support smooth patient flow and timely delivery of services. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Appointment Scheduling skills to manage patient visits, follow-ups, and cancellations efficiently. Candidates should possess excellent Phone Etiquette and Communication skills to handle inquiries, provide information, and support a welcoming patient experience. Candidates should possess Insurance Verification skills and familiarity with Medical Terminology to accurately confirm coverage and relay information to clinical staff. Relevant experience in a medical, vision care, or customer service environment is beneficial. High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training in healthcare administration or related fields is a plus. Proficiency with basic computer systems and practice management or scheduling software is preferred.
