Medical Surgical Unit - Travel Registered Nurse

Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 60 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience.

• Travel experience is required.

• Experience with Epic is required.

• Trauma Level 1 experience is required.

• BSN completion preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Missouri license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >75 miles from facility to be submitted.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Aya Program - BJC Health System and no current placement allowed at Program: Aya Program - BJC Health System.

Additional Details:

RNs only - Clinicians who obtained RN degree outside of the U.S. and do not hold MO/IL/Compact license require extended licensing and compliance timeframe. No medical marijuana cards accepted. You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

Required Skills/Experience: Interpretation/Management of Dysrhythmias required. Blood Product Administration, Peripheral Line Care/Management, Phlebotomy, Starting IVs, Insulin, PCA, Spinal cord injuries, Traumatic Brain injury, Ortho trauma, Peripheral nerve block catheters, Total Joint Replacements, Surgical drains, Chest tubes-Emerson/Pleur-evac, CPAP/BiPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Nasal Cannula, Oral suctioning, Oxygen face masks, Portable Oxygen tank, Isolation Precautions, Wound Care/Wound Vac.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Previous Charge Experience: Preferred.

Required Credentials: Must pass Relias EKG exam.

Special Requests: Please, no more than 7 days of RTO per 13 week contract- If a shift is missed, please work to make up as soon as possible if able.

Unit Details: Adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient population. Patients come from ED, OR, or ICU. Cares for geriatric trauma patients 55 yo + with trauma, trauma patients including abuse/violence victims, MVA, MVC, and falls, and acute care surgery patients including appendicitis, gallbladders, hernia repairs, fistulas, wounds, burns, and TBI. Uses lifts, restraints, wound vacs, traction, and external fixators.

Shift & Scheduling: BJC policy: Every other weekend required. No call. Flexible contract hours: 36 or 48 per week.

Floating Requirements: Float within service line.
