Billing Specialist (Hospice)

Hospice Billing ClerkJoin a team where your work directly supports the patients and families we serve.We are looking for a detail-oriented, dependable, and organized Hospice Billing Clerk to join our Revenue Cycle team. If you enjoy working with numbers, solving problems, keeping things organized, and being part of a team that makes a difference in healthcare, we'd love to hear from you!As a Hospice Billing Clerk, you'll play an important role in keeping our billing operations accurate, timely, and running smoothly.You will:Prepare and submit hospice claims to Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, and other payers.Verify patient demographics, insurance eligibility, and billing information.Monitor claims and follow up on rejections, denials, and outstanding balances.Assist with accounts receivable and timely payment resolution.Identify and correct billing discrepancies.Work closely with clinical, admissions, medical records, and administrative teams.Maintain accurate information in the EMR and billing systems.Assist with audits and payer requests.Follow Medicare, Medicaid, Louisiana, HIPAA, and organizational billing requirements.What we're looking for:High school diploma or equivalent.Previous medical billing, healthcare administration, or accounts receivable experience preferred.3-5 years of hospice billing experience required.Medicare and/or Medicaid billing experience preferred.Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Excellent organizational and follow-up skills.Comfortable working with computers and multiple systems.Strong communication and teamwork skills.Ability to prioritize work and meet important billing deadlines.Why this role matters:Behind every claim is a patient and family relying on our organization to provide compassionate hospice care.
